Professional Background

I completed my medical training at Harvard in the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program and served as the Outpatient Chief Resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I completed fellowships in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, with a focus on modern application of Freudian techniques and theory. I have seen patients in private practice since 2009 and worked in a community multidisciplinary center for almost a decade before moving into the physician health sphere.  Serving in the role as physician evaluator at the Massachusetts Medical Society’s subsidiary Physician Health Program, I guided clients to needed resources with a focus on personal and professional fulfillment. I am also a Certified Physician Development Coach. Through this work I learned the value of engaging medical leaders and physicians around optimizing health and communication to enhance performance. My background trained me to understand the systemic and individual factors contributing to the challenges of working in modern healthcare systems. I believe if we invest in physician wellness, communication, and satisfaction, everyone benefits.

Approach

My coaching practice is highly individualized and involves a combination of structured exercises and topic-focused discussion, geared towards understanding yourself, your strengths, your challenges and unique perspective. You will develop the tools needed to achieve your identified goals. You will benefit from the listening of an experienced professional with knowledge about physician health, quality assurance, healthcare leadership and medical systems. We will partner in exploring how your insights and broadened perspective can propel professional development and satisfaction. Coaching is not healthcare or therapy, but does promote exploration, learning and growth.
